Today I got discharged from therapy. I have the knowledge to help my shoulder calm down when it\'s angry, know more about proper posture, and have strengthened those important stabilizing muscles. Thank you Summit Rehab for teaching me so much and allowing me to continue to learn in the future. I\'ll be passing this knowledge on to my training clients. Super thankful I saw Dr J Rapley at Rockhill orthopedics!!! I highly recommend them if you\'re needing physical therapy!! #getbetterbetter
This is my third visit with Summit Rehab sine 2009. Cory and the team helped me recover from a badly broken ankle and mist recently, from 2 knee replacements. This is a friendly, fun, and relaxed atmosphere with a serious plan to help you get better, which they have effectively done every time. I hope I don't have to use their services again, but should the need arise, I will return time and time again.
The testimonials for Summit Rehab have a common theme and I'm going to add to it. You enter a stranger and leave feeling part of the family! The entire staff is extremely professional and they use state-of-the art technology to assist in returning you to pain free living. I actually looked forward to going in for treatment because I knew that Cory or John would take me a bit further in stretching out my shoulder! I could not have done it without their help!!! On a scale of 1 to 10 - with 10 being the highest, I would give them a 10!
This was the first time I have had to have PT so I have no others with which to compare. I can say however, that I very much appreciated everything Cory and Jon did to help me through the rehab process. They explained about the initial cause of my pain and then how each exercise could help and strengthen my shoulder. I definitely would recommend SR!!
I have been attending Summit Rehab for all of my physical therapy needs for 6 years now and I have never regretted choosing them. The staff really knows what they are doing. Every time I walk in the front door I feel a burst of energy and a determination to really improve myself. The staff is warm and friendly. They make therapy fly by and put you back on your feet in no time. They make you better better!
This is the second time I have come to Summit Rehab and Wellness and I was just as pleased this time as last. The first time was for a badly broken ankle; this time for a total knee replacement rehab. The staff is friendly and helpful and the excercises are designed to be both rehabilitating and to help prevent future problems/injuries. I feel so much better than when I came 4 weeks after surgery and I have Cory and his staff to thank.
In the last 3 years, I've had 7 surgeries. Since the very beginning, I went to Summit Rehab, and I've never wanted to go anywhere else. The physical therapists are so intentional, and you can tell they really care about you as an individual, and not just something that has to be fixed. Every time I step through their door, I know that I'm getting leaps and bounds closer to my goal of full recovery. I can't thank these guys enough for investing in me and getting me back to my pre-surgery self! I don't think I'll ever find a better physical therapy place than this one.
Why Did I Choose Summit Rehab? It could be the conveniently located new facility near Lees Summit North HS. It could be the caring one-on-one treatments. They worked around my schedule to ensure I received the treatments my Dr ordered. Maybe it was the large indoor turf workout area or their complete line of athletic workout equipment. I believe I chose them due to all of these points but most importantly. They all cared about me and my recovery. I saw the same excellent care given to children, high school athletes, and young at heart retirees. If you want to feel better inside and out choose Summit Rehab.
Stefanie, I just wanted to take a minute to thank you and the Summit Rehab team for the excellent job on helping me rehab my shoulder after surgery. As a result of the guidance that I received, I am on my way to a full recovery. Although few people probably enjoy going through physical therapy, the team at Summit Rehab made the weekly visits something that I actually looked forward to. The staff was informative, friendly, courteous and fun. Not only did I receive first rate care, I feel like I made a few friends on the way. Awesome job!

A combination of urge and stress incontinence
Urge Incontinence may also be called overactive bladder or detrusor instability. This occurs because the bladder muscle becomes irritated and signals the brain with an urge to urinate, even when the bladder is not full. The bladder contracts before the pelvic muscles can prevent leakage. Most people with urge incontinence experience “triggers” such as the key hitting the lock or running water. Urinary frequency and urinating several times at night are both common complaints with this condition.
The most common form of leakage, stress incontinence happens during activities that place increased pressure on the bladder and pelvic muscles. Because the pelvic muscles are weak, they are not able to control the force and leakage occurs. Most often leakage occurs with coughing, sneezing, exercise or laughter.
